Ambassador of the European Commission Delegation to Podgorica H.E. Mitja Drobnic, visited the Civil Aviation Agency

Ambassador of the European Commission Delegation to Podgorica H.E. Mitja Drobnič, visited the Civil Aviation Agency on November 5, 2012 and had a bilateral meeting with the Director of the Agency, Mr. Dragan Đurović.

Ambassador Drobnic is familiar with the current situation in the field of civil aviation in Montenegro, as well as with the activities of the Civil Aviation Agency.

Special attention was paid to the fact that the Agency is the first institution in Montenegro, which began with the implementation of European legislation in our legal system, through the possibility of publishing regulations that mandate the application of specific regulations of the European Commission.

The ambassador is also familiar with the newspapers in the Air Transport Act, the new responsibilities of the Agency, the new national civil aviation authorities, and the preliminary results of international control missions. All of this points to very rapid and intensive progress in the field of civil aviation. This has been significantly contributed by the Agency, which has enviable staffing potential and devotes a great deal of attention to the regular knowledge and training of staff.

It was stressed that it is very important that Montenegro devotes special attention and effort to fulfill all obligations under the Multilateral Agreement on the Establishment of a Joint European Aviation Area between the European Community and its Member States, the Republic of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia , The Republic of Iceland, Montenegro, Norway, Romania, Serbia and the United Nations of the Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (ECAA Agreement), in which it had the opportunity to convince the European Commission's expert mission.

Ambassador Drobnic expressed his satisfaction with the progress made by civil aviation in Montenegro. He also praised the competence and activities of the Civil Aviation Agency. He underlined the readiness of the Delegation of the European Commission to support and assist the development of civil aviation in Montenegro in cooperation with European aviation partners.
