Director of the Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro, Mr. Dragan Djurovic and Director of the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Nebojsa, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on March 16, 2012, confirming the intention to improve cooperation in the field of air traffic, in particular when checking the fulfillment of the requirements for the validity of air navigation service certificates and the application of safety measures of a common air navigation service provider (SMTC) in the provision of those services.
Signatories are aware that the successful application of international acts and regulations, international standards and recommended practices and the implementation of a joint air navigation service provider will improve the security and efficiency of the provision of services.
In accordance with the national legislation of Montenegro and Serbia and respecting the principles of independence of civil authorities or national supervisory bodies, the signatory states have formed a joint team for cooperation in order to implement the memorandum.
The signed Memorandum of Cooperation is a continuation of the intensive activities of the Montenegrin Civil Aviation Agency in establishing close and partnership relations between the aviation authorities in the region.
