Once again, Montenegro has a representative in the governing structure of the European aviation institution

At the plenary session of the Directors General of the Civil Aviation Authorities held on 12 July 2021, the Director of the Civil Aviation Agency, Dragan Djurovic, is re-elected for the position of a member of the Coordinating Committee of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), that is consisted of 44 Member States.

Montenegro chaired for the first time the most important body of the EUROCONTROL – the Permanent Commission – CN

On 17 June 2021, the first session of the Permanent Commission of the EUROCONTROL in 2021 took place. This session that was held on line was chaired by the Director of the Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro, Dragan Djurovic.

The Permanent Commission is consisted of high representatives of the aviation authorities (mainly directors). It formulates general policy of the EUROCONTROL and it is the highest level body of the EUROCONTROL that makes decisions.

At this session, inter alia, the recommendations were adopted regarding encouragement of States to continue requesting from its air services providers to manage costs in accordance with level of demand, by providing reliable service to airspace users; entrustment by States to their air services providers to ensure that... Following March 31, it is expected to establish a normal regime - the possibility of extending the validity of the certificates is coming to an end

ICAO and EASA have taken the position that, starting from March 31 2021, they expect the establishment of a normal regime, i.e. that they should no longer resort to exemptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. A significant number of countries in the world have used the instrument of extension of validity as one of the actions to maintain the validity of certificates and permits of aviation entities and aviation personnel in the past period.

As part of the preparation activities for the return to normalization of flight, ICAO and EASA have published a set of instructions and useful material for aviation entities, which the national aviation authorities have regularly forwarded to end-users.
