The Civil Aviation Agency issued Safety Directive regarding the limitation of operations with Boeing 737-8 “MAX” and Boeing 737-9 “MAX” aircraft.

European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) issued on Tuesday 12 March two safety directives, suspending all flight operations with Boeing 737-8 “MAX“ and 737-9 “MAX” aircraft. Having that in mind, and with regard to the fact that the passengers and air operations safety presents the priority, the Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro issued Safety Directive stipulating that the operations with Boeing 737-8 “MAX“ and 737-9 “MAX” aircraft are not allowed in Montenegrin airspace, respectively landings and take-offs are not allowed at Montenegrin airports.

The director of the Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro, Dragan Djurovic, and the newly appointed director of the Civil Aviation Agency of North Macedonia, Tomislav Tuntev, had a meeting on 4 March 2019 in Podgorica.

Leading experts from both sides attended the meeting, and the topics were strengthening cooperation of aviation authorities of the two states in the fields of common interest (security, safety, air traffic management).

Having in mind the signed Memorandum of Understanding between the two aviation authorities, as well as good bilateral relations between the two states, more intensive activities in the forthcoming period are agreed, regarding the exchange of experts, experience and documents.

 In the period between 21 and 29 January 2019, an ICAO Coordinated Validation Mission with the assessment character was conducted. The Civil Aviation Agency was the subject of the assessment activities on behalf of the state and the majority of the assessment was conducted within its premises.
