Director of the Agency had a conversation with the ICAO Secretary General

The Director of the Civil Aviation Agency, Ivan Scekic, and the Minister of Transport, Maja Vukicevic, in the course of events during the ICAO Assembly, meet the ICAO Secretary General, Juan Carlos Salazar.

Current topics from the area of aviation, challenges and expectations in global aviation were discussed.

The Director of the Agency thanked friends of Montenegrin aviation authority from the ICAO for their support to Montenegro.

Number of drone operators registered pursuant to the EU rules in growth

In Montenegro, 320 drone operators were registered in only one year and three months, i.e. since the beginning of application of new rules that comply with the EU standards.

The test, obligatory for all drone pilots whose mass is more than 249 grams, was passed by 352 applicants.

In accordance with the applicable rules, operators registered in the EU do not hae to register in Montenegro, if they submit certificate on registration from the Member State. Due to this, the majority of registered persons in our country were the foreigners, and not we are witnessing the significant growth of national operators.

The Agency invested significant resources in order to enable digitalisation of the process that is in entirety free of charge for users.

New impetus for Montenegro-Qatar aviation relations

The Director of the Montenegrin Civil Aviation Agency, Ivan Šćekić, met with his colleague from the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), Mohamed Alhajri, to discuss strengthening cooperation between the aviation authorities of the two countries.

The interlocutors agreed that continued mutual support can contribute to improving safety and security, as well as better air connectivity.

They exchanged views on key priorities in the work of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in the coming period.
