Representatives of aviation authorities from the region, EU candidate States, had a conversation today in Podgorica on numerous common topics from the area of civil aviation and intensification of regional partnership. The Civil Aviation Agency (CAA) is host of the meeting, in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding on Mutual Cooperation.

Directors of civil aviation authorities of Montenegro, Serbia, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania agreed that joint planning and coordination contribute to more efficient harmonisation and application of the European and international standards.

By singing the Convention on the Bureau of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), Montenegro reaffirmed the status of the European aviation partner.

The Agency Director, Mr Ivan Scekic, signed the ECAC Convention in Bern on 28 August 2025, and Montenegro is one of the first signatory states.

Through this convention, Member States, including Montenegro, also confirm the obligation of participating the single European civil aviation system.

Once again, the Agency and Montenegro are confirmed to be recognised partners of the European and international organisations in aviation industry.
