MORE INTENSIVE REGIONAL COOPERATION OF AVIATION AUTHORITIES

The regional cooperation of aviation authorities is at favoured level, and its intensification is particularly important for faster development in this area.

That is the evaluation of the directors of institutions competent for civil aviation in the States of the region, which has been provided just before today meeting of the ECAA Joint Committee on the establishment of a European Common Aviation Area that is taking place in Podgorica.

Director of the Civil Aviation Agency (CAA), Ivan Scekic hosted on 18 June this year Filip Cornelis, Director for Aviation – European Commission DG MOVE and colleagues from the agencies / directorates for civil aviation of the Republic of Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and North Macedonia.

The collocutors talked, inter alia, about improvement of coordinated appearance and acting at international level for the purpose of achieving common objectives in area of aviation.

“We engage our efforts with commitment in order to successfully conduct European standards and to enable States enjoying the overall benefits of this Agreement. It is a pleasure to witness constant improvement of quality of civil aviation safety and security system”, as is stated at the meeting that took place in the Montenegrin Agency.

Directors of competent institutions from within the region shared the opinion that the two-day meeting of the Joint Committee is an opportunity for the EC representatives to be assured in commitment to meet the obligations from the ECAA Agreement.

The meeting held in the premises of the Montenegrin Agency were participated by: the Director of the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia, Mirjana Cizmarov, Director of the Civil Aviation Administration of Albania, Maksim Ethemaj, Director of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Directorate of Civil Aviation, Zorislav Ivanovic, as well as Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Kosovo, Burim Dinarama. The representative of the Civil Aviation Agency of North Macedonia, Veti Gjorgjieska – Atanasoska, also participated the meeting.
