Always count on complete support of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), these are the words of its high representative Nicolas Rallo addressed to the Civil Aviation Agency team, headed by its Director, Ivan Scekic.
ICAO Regional Office Director for Europe and North Atlantic was, during two-day visit to Montenegro with intensive agenda, introduced with the activities of the CAA and of key aviation companies.
Topics of the conversations were development of the civil aviation, standards and recommended practice successfully conducted by the Montenegrin civil aviation authority, development plans and possibilities for further cooperation and support of the ICAO.
Participants to the meeting that took place in the premises of the Agency were representatives of key entities from the aviation industry – the Deputy Director of Air Traffic Control of Serbia and Montenegro (SMATSA), Rajko Uskokovic, the Executive Director of the Airports of Montenegro, Roko Tolic, and Acting Executive Director of To Montenegro brand Air Montenegro. A representative of the Council of the Civil Aviation Agency, Jevto Bojović, also participated the meeting.
Collocutors agreed that continuation of development requires investments, and they were satisfied with international cooperation, with statement that this important opportunity for discussion and exchange of opinions intensifies cooperation.
“My team and I are ready to continue providing support to your efforts in cooperation also with other partners. Each State is important to International Civil Aviation Organization, and due attention will be given to the Western Balkans countries”, Rallo emphasised.
The Director of the Agency thanked to the ICAO high representative for support given to Montenegro, and noted that it is challenging to keep results at the current level.
“We can have numerous benefits from strengthening cooperation with the ICAO in achieving further improvement of Montenegrin civil aviation system. Trainings given by the experts of this important international institution are particularly important for us”, Scekic stated.
