
The improved Memorandum of Understanding between the aviation authorities of Montenegro and Slovenia deepens mutual cooperation, which also contributes to the support of European path of Montenegro in the field of air transport.
The Directors of the Civil Aviation Agencies of Montenegro and Slovenia, Ivan Šćekić and Miha Šnabl, signed the Memorandum, which was renewed after a decade, on July 23, 2025 in Podgorica.
This document strengthens cooperation in the area of control, safety and security of air traffic between the two countries, as well as support in the implementation of European and international regulations.
It outlines joint development and flexibility in the use of documentation and human resources in the civil aviation area.
The strengthening of mutual cooperation is particularly important for inspections and oversight of the aviation industry, as well as for ongoing alignment with the legal acquis of the European Union and international standards and practices in the civil aviation area.
The initial Memorandum between the Montenegrin and Slovenian aviation authorities was signed on July 23, 2015 in Ljubljana.
On July 22 and 23, the team of the Montenegrin Agency hosted a delegation from the Civil Aviation Agency of Slovenia, which included the representatives of the aviation industry of that country. During the two-day meetings held in a constructive atmosphere, the results of the work were presented, and valuable experiences were shared in all areas.
