State Secretary for European Integration and Chief Negotiator, the Ambassador Aleksandar Andrija Pejovic had a meeting with Dragan Djurovic, the Director of Montenegro Civil Aviation Agency.
They exchanged opinions on achieved progress and further activities towards the complete compliance with EU regulations in the area of air transport.
The Director of Montenegro Civil Aviation Agency, Dragan Djurovic, informed the Ambassador Pejovic about the Agency’s work and achieved progress, emphasizing its importance for development of air transport safety and security in Montenegro.
The Ambassador Pejovic was satisfied with the progress achieved within the Chapter 14, particularly in the area of air transport.
They exchanged opinions on the application of the ECAA agreement signed in 2006, having in mind its contribution to better compliance and application of European standards in this area.
It is stated that Montenegro successfully conducted “One Stop Security” project which enabled the Civil Aviation Agency to ask from EU the recognition of security measures in order to accomplish single security control for flights within the EU member states. Accordingly, in the beginning of March, Montenegro sent the application to the EC Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport for formal inclusion into this regime.
The overall results of Montenegro in the area of air transport are satisfying and therefore opening of negotiations in Chapter 14: Transport Policy by the end of this year is expected.
