The Agreement between the CAA and the Municipality of Kotor: Fighting unlawful use of drones

The Civil Aviation Agency (CAA) and the Municipality of Kotor, using the Municipal Police as an agent, shall jointly work on prevention and suppression of unlawful use of drones at the local level.

That is foreseen in the Agreement on Cooperation in the area of preventing unlawful use of unmanned aircraft systems that was at the end of October signed between the Director of the Agency, Mr. Ivan Scekic, and the President of the Municipality of Kotor, Mr. Vladimir Jokic.

Objective of the coordination is responsible and safe use of drones, in the interest of maintaining and improving safety and security, protection of citizens and property.

After Tivat, where the international airport and controlled flight zone (CTR) are located, this type of cooperation is established with Kotor as well, because part of the CTR covers the territory of that municipality, as well.

The CAA shall, within its competences, provide detail information to the Municipality and the Municipal Police on zones where use of drones is prohibited, restrained or conditional, as well as submit relevant data on registered operators and pilots, in accordance with the law.

The Municipal Police of the Municipality of Kotor shall take measures from within its competences in cases of doubts regarding unlawful use of drones, including verification of identity of persons, checking data on operators and pilots and it shall, when needed, provide support to the Agency in performing oversight and control activities.
