
The Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro (CAA) hosted professional workshops organised by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), that are taking place in Podgorica in period 17-19 November 2025.
Representatives of national aviation authorities from within the region were the participants, and focus was on improving knowledge and skills through key topics from areas of flight operations (OPS) and aviation medicine (MED).
The workshops were organised within the IPA 6 project, that represents part of the Instrument for Pre-Accession assistance of EU and it is managed by the EASA. Its objective is to support States of the Western Balkans and Turkey in harmonisation of their regulatory and oversight framework with the EU acquis in the area of civil aviation safety.
Participants have the opportunity to exchange experience regarding the overall course of inspection process, including the preparatory phase, organisation of meetings, application of check-lists and manner of conducting oversight activities, as well as acting in situations when the inspection team does not have uniform attitude.
Part of topics are elements of developing draft and final inspection report, as well as specificities of the regulatory framework within areas of OPS and MED oversight, planning and conducting of inspections, questionnaires, criteria for election of teams and handling inspection documents until it is archived.
EASA workshops present contribution to strengthening professional capacities and further harmonisation of aviation system of Montenegro with the European safety standards, as well as confirmation of successful cooperation between the EASA and the Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro.”
