
The Civil Aviation Agency (CAA) is the host of the International Civil Aviation organization (ICAO) workshop dedicated to prevention and reducing risk from bird strike and impact of other wildlife on air transport.
The workshop and the ICAO expert groups meetings, that take place in Tivat from 22 September to 24 September 2026, represent the recognition of contribution of Montenegro in the field of aviation safety, as well as confirmation of trust and successful cooperation between the ICAO and the Agency.
Professional gathering on prevention of bird strike shall gather representatives of aviation mainly from the European countries. This is another opportunity for exchange of information, experience and good practices as regards one of challenges that airports around the world face, including the Montenegrin airports, whose representatives will participate the event.
The workshop will also enable that efforts of Montenegro, with the objective of reducing impact of wild life to aviation operations, are presented and analysed to international experts.
In the previous time period, the CAA initiated in this regard a discussion with a number of institutions for the purpose of more efficient implementation of activities, with monitoring implementation of measures at airports and in their vicinity. The event in Tivat will be of importance for exchange of experience and opinions on the manner how countries face this challenge and which measures have the best results.
Montenegro will also host representatives of the ICAO Regional Expert Safety Group (RESG) and RESG Working Group for development of Regional Aviation Safety Plan Working Group (RASP WG). Two-day meetings shall take place in Multimedia Hall of the Municipality of Tivat.
