On 17 June 2021, the first session of the Permanent Commission of the EUROCONTROL in 2021 took place. This session that was held on line was chaired by the Director of the Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro, Dragan Djurovic.
The Permanent Commission is consisted of high representatives of the aviation authorities (mainly directors). It formulates general policy of the EUROCONTROL and it is the highest level body of the EUROCONTROL that makes decisions.
At this session, inter alia, the recommendations were adopted regarding encouragement of States to continue requesting from its air services providers to manage costs in accordance with level of demand, by providing reliable service to airspace users; entrustment by States to their air services providers to ensure that their human resources meet current demand in transport, as well as future capacity requirements; engagement of States and air services provider for the purpose of optimising transparency for airspace users; further improvement of current operations by States and air services provider for the purpose of improving flight efficiency.
On 1 July 2007, Montenegro became full-fledged member of the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL), the organisation primarily in charge for air navigation safety. Chairing the Permanent Commission, the body making the most important decisions on behalf of 41 Member States, is an exquisite privilege and responsibility.
