The Civil Aviation Agency issued Safety Directive regarding the limitation of operations with Boeing 737-8 “MAX” and Boeing 737-9 “MAX” aircraft.

European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) issued on Tuesday 12 March two safety directives, suspending all flight operations with Boeing 737-8 “MAX“ and 737-9 “MAX” aircraft. Having that in mind, and with regard to the fact that the passengers and air operations safety presents the priority, the Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro issued Safety Directive stipulating that the operations with Boeing 737-8 “MAX“ and 737-9 “MAX” aircraft are not allowed in Montenegrin airspace, respectively landings and take-offs are not allowed at Montenegrin airports.

According to the statement of the EASA, this act can be considered as temporary action and the Civil Aviation Agency shall closely monitor further development of the situation and it shall take appropriate measures.

There are no Boeing 737-8 “MAX“ and 737-9 “MAX” aircraft in Montenegrin registry.

Boeing 737-8 “MAX“ and 737-9 “MAX” aircraft did not land or take off from Montenegrin airports in 2019. In 2018, from the overall number of take-off and landing operations at Montenegrin airports, around 50 were performed with Boeing 737-8 “MAX“ and 737-9 “MAX” aircraft.
