Podgorica, October 11, 2013 - The Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro in cooperation with the Hungarian organization Hungaro Control and with the support of TAIEX (Office for Technical Assistance and Information Exchange within the Directorate General for Enlargement of the European Commission) organized a seminar " Training in Civil Aviation ", which brought together over 90 participants from 13 countries. The seminar assessed that the Single European Sky and the new regulatory frameworks in the field of civil aviation imposed great challenges, and that success can only be achieved with the constant improvement of personnel in this field.

At the beginning of the seminar, the participants were on behalf of the Agency, welcomed Zoran Đuranović, Director of the Aerospace Services Sector in the airspace, who said he firmly believes in regional cooperation and the possibilities it provides. "Only strong regional cooperation can provide safe, cheap and quality air traffic management throughout the region. The results achieved during the year since the launch of the "Common Area of ​​Service Delivery" Initiative give us hope that this region will serve as an example to others in the coming period, "said Djuranovic.

The seminar, which represents a continuation of the activities within the Initiative, once again emphasized the importance of regional cooperation, without which the Single European Sky would remain a divided space.

With the aim of fostering cooperation in the field of air traffic in Southeast Europe, at the end of 2012, the Montenegro Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro launched the "Joint Service Area" Initiative, with the focus on more efficient and secure provision of air traffic services. The initiative promotes the Single European Sky in the region and represents an important step towards more efficient participation of the Western Balkan countries in this concept.

It is also envisaged that the Initiative also provides economic benefits to the participating countries through joint projects and cooperation between regional civil aviation authorities and air navigation service providers.

Members of the Initiative are representatives from Montenegro, Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania and Hungary, while the status of observer countries is represented by representatives from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition to these countries, representatives from Azerbaijan, Turkey and Ukraine also take part in the seminar.
