Podgorica, 26. February 2015 – In the following period, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) shall provide Montenegro Civil Aviation Agency (CAA) with technical assistance and consultations, in accordance with the Working Arrangement signed by the directors of the institutions. The Working Arrangement has been signed in Cologne by the Director General of the Civil Aviation Agency, Mr Dragan Djurovic, and the Executive Director of EASA, Mr Patrick Ky.
Within the Arrangement, the CAA shall get support particularly in the area of enforcement of the ECAA Agreement, pursuant to which Montenegro shall apply EU legislation in the area of aviation safety.
As the Civil Aviation Agency stated “The support we receive due to the signed Working Arrangement covers all aspects of civil aviation safety and environment protection regarding the products, parts and appliances, as well as the personnel, organisations, aerodromes, and air transport management and air navigation services“.
Up to the present time, only the European Union member states are entitled with full-fledged EASA membership, while other European countries are provided with the possibility of active participation through Working Arrangements. EASA rules which are obligatory to all EU member states, shall be obligatory to other states depending on the arrangements signed.
The cooperation between EASA and non-EU member states influences the civil aviation safety improvement in all Europe.
