The Workshop for pilots of general aviation was organized by the Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro (at Ćemovsko polje in the premises of the approved training organization Pilot Training Academy Airways Aviation) on 27 June 2019 for the purpose of knowledge refreshment, informing on regulatory requirements and exchange of experience and opinions.
The Workshop was organized in accordance with planned actions referred to in State Safety Plan. The lecturers were, apart from representatives of the Civil Aviation Agency, experienced pilots from the region:
- Zdravko Lukić, The Republic of Serbia and
- Natko Kulić, Croatia.
The Workshop was participated, apart from the representatives of the Civil Aviation Agency, by 12 listeners from the aviation community. Through the comprehensive agenda listeners were provided with presentations, and the opinions were exchanged in following areas: rules of the air, flight preparation, weather assessment, importance of regular decision-making, flight in controlled airspace, avoiding collisions and reducing separations, communication and occurrence reporting. Certain topics were additionally explained through examples with interactive approach of workshop participants and useful discussion.
Eventually, general conclusion of the participants was positive and holding of similar workshop on periodical basis is advisable. Lecturers’ experience additionally contributed to the quality of the Workshop. With the aim to further improve operational flight challenges in Montenegrin airspace, it is suggested that other representatives of relevant aviation entities should be invited when organizing future workshops
