At the end of January, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has issued the Safety Directive EASA SD 2021_01, which prescribes the conditions for the return to service of Boeing 737-8 "MAX" and 737-9 "MAX" aircraft when performing commercial air transport operations.

Having this in mind, and starting from the fact that the safety of passengers and air operations are the priority, the Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro has issued a Safety Directive, which stipulates that operations of these aircraft are allowed at Montenegrin airports, according to conditions which are identical to ones published by EASA... This year, Montenegro took over the chairmanship of the Permanent Commission of EUROCONTROL, the highest decision-making body in this European institution, in charge of safety of air navigation.

The Director of the Civil Aviation Agency, Dragan Djurovic, will be the Chairman of the Permanent Commission of EUROCONTROL and he will sign all its decisions.

This body formulates the general policy of EUROCONTROL, approves the annual budget and the five-year work program of the institution, the contractual, financial and staff regulations. The Permanent Commission is also responsible for appointing the Director General.

The Webinar with the topic “State Safety Programme” was held on Monday, 5 October 2020, and it was organised by the Civil Aviation Agency. The webinar was organised as a response to the new situation caused by the coronavirus and the need of the Agency to provide representatives of the aviation entities with more details of the State Safety Programme.
