The first „No Drone Zone“ signs installed in the vicinity of Montenegrin Airports

Within the intensive Safe Drones Operations campaign, the Civil Aviation Agency installed the first signs on forbidding drone operations in Podgorica airport zone and Tivat airport zone.

The drone operations are forbidden in immediate vicinity of airports, and all the drone operators will be warned about that by the internationally recognised No Drone Zone sign.

In case it is necessary to perform the drone operation in the airport zone, the drone operator is obliged to ask the competent air traffic control for the approval. 

In case of illegal drone operations, there is a possibility of fines and court procedures for jeopardising public order and peace.

Just Culture Statement signed

Civil Aviation Agency director, Mr Dragan Djurovic, Executive Director of Montenegro Airlines AD, Mr Zivko Banjevic and Executive Director of Airports of Montenegro AD, Mr Danilo Orlandic, signed common Just Culture Statement on 10 July 2019 at the Civil Aviation Agency premises.

Signing of the Statement is the result of the initiative of the Civil Aviation Agency and it represents a support to the implementation of the provisions of the Rulebook on Reporting, Analysis and Follow-up of occurrences in Civil Aviation (“Official Gazette of Montenegro”, No 45/16), transposing the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EC) No 376/2014.

Workshop for pilots of general aviation held

The Workshop for pilots of general aviation was organized by the Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro (at Ćemovsko polje in the premises of the approved training organization Pilot Training Academy Airways Aviation) on 27 June 2019 for the purpose of knowledge refreshment, informing on regulatory requirements and exchange of experience and opinions.

The Workshop was organized in accordance with planned actions referred to in State Safety Plan. The lecturers were, apart from representatives of the Civil Aviation Agency, experienced pilots from the region:

  • Zdravko Lukić, The Republic of Serbia and
  • Natko Kulić, Croatia.
