Podgorica, 26. February 2015 – In the following period, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) shall provide Montenegro Civil Aviation Agency (CAA) with technical assistance and consultations, in accordance with the Working Arrangement signed by the directors of the institutions. The Working Arrangement has been signed in Cologne by the Director General of the Civil Aviation Agency, Mr Dragan Djurovic, and the Executive Director of EASA, Mr Patrick Ky.
Within the Arrangement, the CAA shall get support particularly in the area of enforcement of the ECAA Agreement, pursuant to which Montenegro shall apply EU legislation in the area of aviation safety.

The Civil Aviation Agency organized Workshop on Groundhandling on 27 January 2015.

The workshop was attended, apart from the host and representatives of the Croatian Civil Aviation Agency, by the representatives of aerodrome operators and providers of groundhandling and self-handling services from Montenegro.
The workshop topics included the regulation which covers groundhandling in Montenegro, its implementation and improvement.

The workshop participants were presented with legal basis and guidelines for preparation of applicable regulations through the publication of Regulation on groundhandling services and amendments thereof. “AIRCRAFT HIJACK” SECURITY EXERCISE
On 11 November 2014, the second security drill “Aircraft Hijack” was performed at Podgorica Airport, in compliance with the National Civil Aviation Security Programme adopted by the Government of Montenegro, which is in compliance with the relevant documents of ICAO, ECAC and European Commission. This was the most complex and the most demanding exercise of act of unlawful interference in civil aviation, since it assumes engagement of numerous participants and competent state authorities.
